Owner

Who is Robertson MotorSports?

Jeff Robertson, owner of Robertson MotorSports, will be the first to tell you that he is a Christian businessman who is excited to be able to own a Christ based race team. His team uses Godly principals, on and off the track, to race toward excellence and to promote  their car, their pits, and their sponsors in a very positive light.  Jeff has been a Tool and Die Journeyman for over 35 years and started his own company, Robertson EDM, in 1996.  Prior to that Jeff served our country in the United States Airforce as crew chief on a B-52  and later served in the Air National Guard, as crew chief, on an  F-100 Super Sabre.

A few years ago Jeff was introduced to the sport of racing when he be-friended a young racer whose well known racing father passed away unexpectedly.  Jeff did not waste any time learning the technical art of building Dirt Late Models.  Jeff studied, researched, and learned from the best, to be able to supply the young man with the necessary racing components to make the young man’s Late Model a contender.  It was around that time that Jeff purchased his first race engine that he knew he was hooked on Dirt Late Model racing. From that point on Jeff put his time, talent and money into building his own Late Models. The young man retired from the racing world and is proudly serving his country as a United States Marine.  As for Jeff, he still owns  Robertson EDM but a portion of his building now has chassis, headers, skins, tires and all the other parts, pieces and tools that make up ROBERTSON MOTORSPORTS, one of the areas fastest up and coming race teams in the Dirt Late Model racing world.

The entire team: owner, driver, builders, and  technical support,  know that the 55T Late Model will be opening the eyes of the other teams, the crowds at the various area tracks , and the sponsors , as the 55T gathers many checkered flags, trophies, and the publicity that comes with it. According to Jeff. All

ROBERTSON MOTORSPORTS

cars will proudly display the “WIN WITH JESUS”  cross decal that has been with the team since its inception.” That also helps to open some eyes and hearts.  Jeff has future plans of expanding ROBERTSON MOTORSPORTS  and invites  everyone to come along for the ride of your lives.

Driver

Who is Tom Ordway?

Tom Ordway passion for racing started at a very young age.  His involvement in racing came from both sides of the family from going with his father to Eldora, Fremont and Millstream speedways to watch sprint cars to traveling to the old Bryan Motor Speedway with his step-dad to watch him race in the semi-late division. The love of racing was injected into Tom’s blood stream at that time and continues to grow today.

After serving in the United States Air Force and then establishing himself back home in Ohio he finally had the opportunity to chase his boyhood dream of building and driving a race car.  In the summer of 2001, Tom and his team started racing in the Bomber Division as a hobby, at first, not realizing his full potential.  During his 2004 season Tom picked up his first ever feature win in the Bomber Division at Oakshade Raceway near Wauseon, Ohio.  In the 2006 season Tom realized his true potential as he piloted the 55T to (7) feature wins, which included the $1000.00 Spectacular,  and topped off the season by being named track champion.  The following year, the 2007 racing season,  Tom and his crew bettered themselves by capturing (4) feature wins with his average finishing position for the 2007 season at 2.3, including (18) top 5’s and yet another track championship concluding with his greatest feat of his racing career,  the UMP 2007 NATIONAL FACTORY STOCK CHAMPION.

In 2008 the team decided to move on to an even larger adventure by entering into the UMP Modified Division which ran the circuit mostly in Indiana.   The 55T  teams Modified season was quite successful with various top 5’s and top 10’s  where they barely missed  getting their hands on the checkered flag.

5 races into the 2009 UMP Modified season, Tom and the team decided to challenge themselves and move into the Dirt Late Model Division  which brought them back into Ohio and allowed them to race once again at Oakshade Raceway.   Within 4 races, in a class filled to the gills with experience,  the 55T team made their first feature race by winning the  Dirt Late Model consi race.  Tom’s exceptionally strong showing and desire to win races caught the eye of ROBERTSON MOTORSPORTS

owner, Jeff Robertson.  Jeff was so impressed that he asked Tom’s team to join his team for the 2010 campaign at Oakshade Raceway as well as circuit tracks around Indiana, Michigan, and of course Ohio.
